During an intensive in Kolkata in December 1996, Jacqulyn Buglisi worked closely with students of Ananda and Tanusree Shankar, introducing them to the rigour and expressivity of the Martha Graham technique. These revivals reintroduced his pioneering modern Indian dance vocabulary to a new generation of performers.

Uday Shankar style of dance. He completed the three-year Senior Certificate Course at the Ananda Shankar Centre for Performing Arts in 1989

Assisted in:

Administrative coordination and institutional development under Tanusree Shankar’s guidance

Performed in numerous annual productions of the Centre.

Represented the troupe at the Republic Day Celebrations in New Delhi (2000).

Toured with Tanusree Shankar’s troupe to Russia in 2009

Trisha Ghosh Choudhury

Poised and articulate, Trisha Ghosh Choudhury embodies a juxtaposition of grace with discipline. Her gentle demeanour and creative insight have made her a guiding presence for students at the Academy.

Uday Shankar style of dance. Also trained in Bharatanatyam, Kathakali, Manipuri, and Rabindrik dance. She holds a Kathak degree from Bangiyo Sahitya Parishad and a Computer Studies qualification from YWCA

Kathak, Bharatanatyam, and Rabindranritya, she holds a degree from Prachin Kalakendra, Chandigarh, and completed the Advanced Class at the Ananda Shankar Centre for Performing Arts

Kathak, Bharatanatyam, and Rabindranritya (Prachin Kalakendra, Chandigarh), she completed the Advanced Class with a Merit Award at the Ananda Shankar Centre for Performing Arts

Lok Tarang Indian Folk Festival (2004) as Assistant to Tanusree Shankar
